On 16th June 2023, the formal partnership between LTI Mindtree and Don Bosco Tech Society was realized by the formal inauguration of the first skill training batch at Don Bosco ITI, Krishnanagar, in Nadia District of West Bengal.

Mindtree Foundation is the CSR wing of LTI Mindtree. The foundation’s social development initiatives are focused on activities in the areas of environment, education, empowerment, and health & nutrition. This partnership envisages training 400 youths in the states of West Bengal, Meghalaya, Arunachal, Mizoram, and Assam.

The formal inaugural function was graced by the presence of Fr. Joseph Pauria (Salesian Provincial, Kolkata), Fr. Jijo John (Provincial Economer), Fr. Jose Podimattam (Technical Commission Head), Fr. George Mathew (Executive Director - Don Bosco Tech Society), Mr. Deepak Prabhu Matti (CSR Head, LTI Mindtree), Mr. Amlan Biswas (Senior Specialist of Sustainability at Mindtree), Mr. Asish Chakraborty, and Mr. Amarnath Modi (Industry Partners). Fr. V T Jose (The Rector of Don Bosco Institution) welcomed the gathering, and Fr. Amit Xess (Vice Principal) gave a vote of thanks at the end of the function.

Speaking on the occasion, Fr. Joseph Pauria commented on the project name "Skills for Dignity” and encouraged all to work towards imparting and acquiring the skills needed in the best way possible so that it can bring dignity to them through employment post-training. Mr. Deepak, in his address informed everyone present about the commitment of Mindtree as a company and its 90000 employees to contribute to the betterment of society through  CSR activities. He wished the nearly 40 newly inducted trainees present on the occasion, the best of the opportunity. He also invited them to engage in designing and creating the best spaces for offices or homes by taking  training in modular furniture and carpentry. He also invited them to give back through their talent and skills to the needy when they are in a good position with their career and earning.

The event was well organized and coordinated by the Don Bosco Tech staff based in Kolkata, and the presence of many students and staff from the ITI added color to the occasion.

We hope that this partnership leads to the enhancement of the lives of many more needy youth through further collaboration and engagement.
